The pediatrics team — four pediatricians and a pediatric nurse practitioner — definitely know how to deal with colds, cough, and flu, along with minor injuries. Our pediatricians are also great about finding the hard-to-see issues.

“Being a child is difficult, there are so many health and everyday life issues to deal with,” said Dr. Sarah Woerner, a longtime pediatrician in the community. “We want to make it as easy as possible for parents to get the health care their children need, in a comfortable and friendly environment.”

In fact, Western Sierra has a Kidz Korner in the Grass Valley waiting room, complete with child-size chairs and a table, floor toys and even wall games, and books are available for children in Grass Valley and Penn Valley.

Whether it’s an annual checkup – which often include immunizations for younger children — or a serious health issue, Western Sierra’s pediatrics team is ready.
