Western Sierra provides for the health care needs of mothers-to-be and babies in the region.

Our maternity team – an OB/GYN and Certified Nurse-Midwife – will handle everything beginning with your initial visit and regular and important prenatal checkups to the arrival of your bundle of joy.

Access to women’s health services is very important and inadequate access to women’s health is a very big issue in a community, especially for mothers and their still-developing babies.

The Maternity Health Unit includes OB/GYN Dr. Chris Genobaga, who has nearly 20 years of experience and Certified Nurse-Midwife Vanita Lott, who has three decades of experience.

The team provides the best-possible maternal health services focused on you and your developing baby’s health.

Western Sierra has an ultrasound machine to facilitate your care, and offers prenatal care for mothers-to-be and their still-developing babies as well as handling their deliveries at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley. “We’re working with the local hospital, which offers a range of options for women including epidurals, and meets high standards of care,” said Dr. Genobaga.

The Maternity Health team also provides other services for women, from choosing the most appropriate birth control to performing hysterectomies.
