“If you don’t have a healthy oral environment, it really affects your life,” says Dr. Chavez, who often talks about the importance of dental care to community groups, especially at high schools in the region.
Western Sierra offers dental services at the Grass Valley, Downieville, Kings Beach (Tahoe) and Penn Valley health centers. Patients must have a primary-care provider at Western Sierra to become a dental patient.
Dental services include preventative and restorative treatments such as: check-ups, teeth cleanings, fillings, root canals, extractions, and deep cleanings to prevent gum disease. Children’s dentistry, including oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide, is available in Grass Valley.
The dental team works closely with other medical providers at Western Sierra. “We are here to serve the community. Healthy teeth are a critical part of a healthy life.” states Dr. Chavez.
In his spare time, Dr. Chavez likes reading, working on home projects, and spending time with his family and dogs in the great outdoors.
