Melissa Gustafson started her healthcare career 15 years ago as an EMT. Following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother, Melissa went on to obtain her RN degree and began her nursing career working in emergency medicine.
As her career progressed, Melissa saw a real need for primary care, especially in rural areas, and made the decision to continue her education. In 2023, Melissa graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Master of Science in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has a passion for infection control and gender-affirming care and strives to be an advocate for her patients. She believes in providing patients with education and supporting them in their health decisions.
Melissa and her family moved to Grass Valley in 2017 and thoroughly enjoy living in the mountains. She and her husband have two sons and two border collies. They enjoy the outdoors, gardening, camping, and skiing. Melissa also enjoys cooking and baking, especially making items from scratch.
